4 Android Apps That Encourage You to Go Outdoors and Get Active

We often view mobile apps as tools to help us complete various tasks, but they can do more than that. Some have the potential to pull us outdoors and push us to live more active lives. This helps us spend our time better, resulting in a better quality of health and richer day-to-day experience. Here are four Android apps that encourage us to do more than sit on our backsides and stare at the screen.

4 android apps you can help to others

It’s not uncommon to hear that people are more distant than they used to be, that smartphones leave us all immersed in our own little worlds, ignoring the people around us. In this way, our little gadgets may hurt our relationships with others. But at the same time, we can actually use these devices to better the lives of people we haven’t even met. Here are four Android apps that make this possible. 1. One Today      One dollar can make a big difference. If you give a dollar to a different cause each day, you can help change the world. That’s the premise behind One Today , a Google app that asks users to give just one dollar to a good cause. It presents a different project every day with the selection tailored to fit the interests of the user. Do you care more about feeding the hungry, helping the poor, spreading education to young people in need, or investing in good health?

What is an APN

What is an APN The Access Point Name (APN) is the name for the settings your phone reads to set up a connection to the gateway between your carrier's cellular network and the public Internet. You carrier reads these settings, then does things like determine the correct IP address, connect to the correct secure gateway, and see if you need a private network like a VPN. All the heavy lifting is done on the carrier side, but we need to make sure the right settings are in place to get on the network we need, in the way we need to connect. Depending on how your carriers network is structured, different settings are mandatory. The rest can be slightly altered to change some of the parameters, but for most of us we will need to use the exact settings provided by our carrier.

How to change your APN

For most phones, this will be done the same way. Of course, Android manufacturers can (and do) change things in the settings, so the process on your phone may be slightly different. The first thing you'll need to do is find the right APN settings for the network you want to use. You'll be able to find these at the support pages at the carrier website. The settings will look like this example for Straight Talk:

6 Of The Best Free Android Apps For Discovering Music

There are numerous ways to stream or acquire music on an Android device, but most of them aren’t free. Spotify, Google Play Music All Access, and Beats Music all require monthly subscriptions. Pandora lets users stream for free, but they must put up with disruptive ads as a result. The thing is, there are quite a few apps out there that will let you listen to music on your Android device for free, and some will still let you jam to all the pop hits you’re used to.   1. Radical.fm Radical.fm provides popular music just like Pandora, only it’s available entirely for free and without ads. The app itself is pretty ugly, as it looks like it hasn’t been touched since the Gingerbread era. This is unfortunate, because the app didn’t even come out until this year. On the other hand, the
